Eat, Drink and Be Scary–

One of the best parts of the trend towards re-purposed and recycled is that holidays have become creative again. I love all of the ideas for homemade costumes that have resurfaced — when I was growing up if one of your friends wore a store bought costume you were very sorry and embarrassed for them and secretly thanked the universe that that wasn’t you.

As I help a friend plan her Halloween party, I’m finding some great inspiration — especially Etsy’s very clever printable PDF’s, which we’ve included in this post along with some amusing and just plain creepy ideas along with links (if you’re a fan of Dexter please scroll down) for your Halloween fete. Speaking of fete, we simply adore these images from a pumpkin carving party courtesy of one of our favorite blogs Apres Fete. A truly chic, grown-up affair.
