Tuesday Twosome

by fisherhills on April 26, 2011

We’ve decided to do a regular posting on Tuesdays called Tuesday Twosomes.   A twosome can be things that go together, think color scheme, or things that oppose each other, think save or splurge. Either way…we hope it helps you create a wedding day that will always be remembered!

Today we’re featuring mini versions of comfort foods that are perfect for the sort of late night snack that is increasingly becoming a wedding trend.

Sliders & Fries

Mini Comfort Food Reception WilmingtonWho doesn’t love a burger and fries? You can ask your caterer to create these little versions in turkey or veggie varieties, as well.

Shrimp & Grits

Low Country Southern WeddingServed on a grit cake this is an appetizer that can be consumed in two bites…served in a sort of redux, modern fashion, it becomes a shot of Low Country goodness.

Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

Wilmington NC Catering CaterersThis has to be the ultimate combination from childhood…well other than peanut butter and jelly.  The humble grilled cheese is literally elevated above a shot of tomato soup in this cleverly imagined hors d’oeuvre.

Hot Dog & Fries

Wedding Hors d'Oeuvres TrendsThe cookout cousin to the burger…the hot dog gets minimized and served with tiny matchstick fries.

Fish & Chips

Wedding Appetizers Late Night SnacksThe former national dish of England…it’s since been replaced by Chicken Tikka Masala, regardless, Americans have been embracing the traditional, beer battered, fried fish dish with enthusiasm!

Mac & Cheese

Catering Comfort Food WilmingtonA classic casserole dish  that is equally at home with a recipe that makes it a one hand nibble or a small ramekin that can be spooned out in three or four bites. For an hors d’oeuvres, it’s worth the extra effort!

Fish Tacos & Margaritas

Caterers Wilmington NC WeddingsAdd some Latin flavor into the night with mini tacos and margarita shots. This is a pairing your guests will certainly love!

Any, or all of these, make a great late night snack to keep the party going! What would be your late night comfort food that you would serve at your wedding?
